Technology Funding Announcements
Sugar Inc. – A blog and media network, announced that it raised $16 million in funding from Sequoia Capital.
Cloudera – A company that provides enterprise-level support to users of Apache Hadoop, just raised $6 million in funding via Greylock Partners and Accel.
BubbleMotion – Provider of a service called BubbleTalk that lets you send short voice messages to anyone, announced that it has raised $6 million in equity from undisclosed investors.
Cliqset – An online identity platform the helps you aggregate your social information scattered throughout the web announced that it has raised $1.5 million in funding from an angel investor.
Javelin Venture Partners – A San Francisco based early stage venture capital firm specializing in technology based startups just recently launched with $70 million in funding.
Seatwave – An online marketplace where fans buy and sell event tickets received $17 million in funding from Accel Partners,Atlas Venture, Mangrove Capital Partners, Fidelity Ventures, and Adinvest.
Acquired Technology Companies
E Ink – Prime View International, the company that makes Amazon’s Kindle and other electronic readers, is purchasing E Ink for $215 million.
GreenHopper – Atlassian announced that it acquired GreenHopper for JIRA from Pyxis Technologies.
Technology Business Closings And Bankruptcies
R.H. Donnelley – In case you missed it R.H. Donnelly which bought Business.com back in 2007 for a record $345 million announced it is filing for Chapter 11 backruptcy.
