Notify.me – This is a notification service that alerts you of any new content that’s added to an RSS feed. I’ve used Yahoo! Alerts, Yotify, and Google Alerts prior to testing and I can say without a doubt that Notify.me beats them all hands down in terms of the least amount of lag time. Using a test blog I measured the elapsed time between the instant an article was published to the RSS feed and the actual time the notification was received from Notify.me. In three separate tests, Notify.me alerts were delivered within one to four minutes after publishing. This is extremely fast in comparison to the others listed below and why Notify.me is an excellent tool for following favorite blogs for which you are interested in commenting as well as other feed based content that is extremely time sensitive. Notify.me can be used for other things such as tracking items on eBay or Craigslist, receiving automatic notification of new job posts, following breaking new stories, and much more. Alerts can be sent to you via SMS, email, instant messaging, or via Notify.me’s own Adobe AIR application. Read more »

How To Add Dynamic RSS Feed Signatures To Gmail With Ease
I’ve been looking for an easy way to add HTML based signatures to Gmail for a while now. There’s been several workarounds created using Greasemonkey scripts and the Better Gmail and Better Gmail 2 Firefox add-ons but until recently it was still quite a hassle. Yesterday, thankfully, I came across a great little gem of an add-on called Black Canvas Gmail Signatures by Jerome Dane. Read more »

Feedly: Firefox RSS Reader Integrated with Google Reader and Twitter, Easy Article Annotation and Sharing
I’ve been using a new RSS feed reader for a couple of weeks now called Feedly. While I am a big fan of google reader, I don’t use it that much. I’d rather just visit that actual sites and blogs individually get news and updates. Feedly, on the other hand, has given me reason to think otherwise and use it instead.
Feedly is a Firefox based feed reader that launches directly from my Firefox browser and is directly integrated with Google Reader. Hence, any subscriptions you add to feedly will be added to Google Reader and any article you read or recommend in feedly will be marked as read and shared in Google Read more »
Snackr: Hot New Adobe AIR Based RSS Ticker
Snackr, an Adobe AIR based RSS ticker, is creating quite a buzz with its flashy looks and smooth moves. I recently heard of Snackr via a Robert Scoble tweet a few weeks ago. I am a past user of the Firefox add-on RSS Ticker which works similarly to Snackr but is less visually stimulating. While I prefer Snackr for catching the latest posts from my favorite sites, there are a few things missing that I would like to see implemented in the next version.
Snackr’s Missing Features
