Creating roads – When getting started with My Town, one of the first things you will want to do is build your roads. Your roads will outline your town. When you are first getting started, you will have a nice size plot, but once you start adding things, you will see that an expansion would be great. Let’s start by creating the roads. At the bottom of your screen, you will see the green buttons. Look for the button with the road and click it. Below the button, you will now see a menu. In this menu is the roads. The roads are free to use, so select the road that you want to use by clicking it. Then click your mouse on your town. That will place the road in your town. If you are creating a straight road, you will need to continue clicking your mouse and lining the road up. You can go back to the road menu and select four ways, curves, and more.
Creating sidewalks– Creating sidewalks is done the same way as creating roads, except you have to select the sidewalks. You will need to click the decor button to open the sidewalks menu. The decor button has a tree on it. When you open it, you will see your two sidewalks. One is called a sidewalk and the other is called an alley. Select the one you want buy clicking it. Then click your mouse in your town where you want the sidewalk to go. Continue clicking to build your sidewalks.
Buying businesses – After building your roads and sidewalks, you will want to purchase you a business or two. When you first get started, you will only have a couple unlocked, but as you climb the levels, more will become available. To buy a business, you will need to click the green button with the building. Then the menu will show below that. You will see the business that you can purchase. Click a business to purchase it. Then click your town to place that business. If you want to add more, you can click another one and add it. Businesses are pretty cheap to purchase. My Town Strategy

Schedule timers – It is crucial that you reset your timers at the right time so you don’t lose money. If you have a building that is ready to collect from in four hours, make sure you come back that specific time to complete the collection. If a home turns red, you’ve waited too long and you’ll receive less coins as a result. Scheduling your game play in My Town can help you keep on track and prevent a loss in profits.
Buy highly profitable buildings – When choosing between buildings you will want to buy ones that are the most profitable. Please our buildings table to identify which which ones earn the most.
Be wary of offers – You should be very careful when you’re filling out offers to earn cash and coins for any game. The terms and conditions for some of these offers are quite tricky and may include charges that aren’t clearly noticeable at first glance. Later you may be surprised to find them showing up on your cell phone bill or elsewhere.
Expand your town – Use the land expansions to grow your town and therefore the number of My Town neighbors you can have. Doing this allows you to earn more coins and increase profits by adding new buildings to collect money from.
Help thy neighbor – Visiting your My Town neighbor and sending them gifts helps you too. You’ll be able to earn more experience points and they’ll be more inclined to return the favor of gifting.
Post occasionally – My Town rewards its players for posting or sharing accomplishments on the wall of their Facebook profile. After posting, your friends are able to click on your post and get a Town Bonus. These Town Bonuses are in forms of coins, cash, and other prizes. If you’d prefer to disable auto sharing on My Town and other Facebook games, check out our Facebook Guide for detailed instructions on how to do so.
Faster loading – If you’re having problems waiting for the My Town game to load, you should change to a faster web browser. Opera or Google Chrome are two great browsers that you may want to try to speed up page loads.
Informed invites – When you send out invites for people to add you on Facebook, it’s always a good idea to let them know why you are requesting the add. Including a short line like “My Town” or “My Town add” will accomplish this.
Join My Town groups – Growing the number of My Town neighbors you have is a key part of the game. That is, adding neighbors unlocks land expansion packages and permits you to gain more experience points. Thus, you’ll be able to level up faster and earn more My Town money. A great way to find more potential My Town neighbors is to join My Town fan pages and groups. There My Town players can add each other by posting their profile link to the wall of those fan pages and groups.
