Ultimate Island Paradise Guide: How To Win, Strategy, Tips, Money

Island Paradise is a Facebook game created by Meteor Games that’s chocked full of fun. Our Island Paradise strategy guide includes info like how to play Island Paradise, how to win coins, and helpful Island Paradise tips to perform well in the game. Island Paradise Beginners

Getting started – After installing the Island Paradise game, you will be asked to create your character. You can choose a random look for the character or you can go through each category and customize its look. When you are finished setting up your character, click the Start Playing button. You will then be walked through a brief tutorial to get you started in the game.

Plowing fields – To plow fields in Island Paradise, you will need to select the shovel tool at the bottom of your screen. Once you have selected the tool, you will need to click the field you want to plow. If you want to plow new fields, place the square where you want it and click.

Harvesting crops – To harvest crops, you will need to select the arrow tool at the bottom of your screen. Then you will need to click the crops that you want to harvest. The crops will then be stored in the inventory box.

Spoiling crops – You are given about 3 fold as much time as it took to grow the crops before they go bad. For example, if you planted a one-day crop, you have three days to harvest them before it spoils.

Planting seeds – To plant seeds, you will need to click the Shop icon at the bottom of your screen. When the box opens, you will need to click the seeds category. When the seeds load, you will need to click the seed you want to plant. The box will then close and you will need to click the fields that you want to plant the seeds in. If you want to change the type of seeds you are planting, simply open the seeds box again and select the type of seed you want and then start planting again.

Harvesting trees – To harvest trees in Island Paradise, you will need to click the arrow tool and then click the tree that you want to harvest.

Spoiling trees – Your trees will not spoil; they will remain ripe until you harvest them. Thus you should not worry about losing your tree harvest due to spoiling. However, people can steal them, so you’ll will want to harvest them as soon as they are ready.

Harvesting animals – When your animals are ready to be harvested, they will sparkli. When this happens, select the arrow from your toolbar and click the animal that is ready.

Selling crops – To sell your crops, you will need to open your inventory box. In the inventory box you will see the harvested tab. Click that tab and you will see everything you have harvested. Then, simply click the sell button to sell your items. Once you have sold your items, the coins will be added to your coin total.

Moving items – To move your items in Island Paradise, click the cross hair tool at the bottom of your screen. Then grab the item you want to move, place it where you want it to be and click it again to release it. The bottom of the item must be green in order for you to place the item in a new location. If the bottom of the item is not green, then there is not enough space to place the item in that specific location.

Storing items – Some items in Island Paradise can be placed in storage. There is no way to know exactly which ones can be stored. To find out if your item can be placed in storage, click the move icon at the bottom of your screen. Then select the item and click the storage icon at the bottom of your screen. If the item disappeared, it was placed in storage. If the storage box opens, the item could not be placed in storage.

Removing items from storage – When you are ready to remove items from storage, click the inventory box. When it opens, click on the storage tab to see the items you have in storage. Next, select an item and click on the location within your island where you want it to be placed.

Deleting items – If you want to delete items on your farm, click the X icon at the bottom of your screen and select the item you want to delete. A box will open and you will be asked if you want to delete the item. Click the Yes button if you’re sure you want to delete it. You will receive money for some items that you delete.

Taking photos – To take a photo, select the camera tool at the bottom of your toolbar. Next, click the camera to take the photo and follow the instructions provided by the game to upload your photo. Taking photos of your island will be posted to your Facebook profile where your Facebook friends can see it in their Facebook profile news feed.

Island Paradise mailbox – Your friends can send you email through Island Paradise as well. To check your email in Island Paradise, click the Mail icon in your bottom toolbar. The mail box will open and you can click the email’s subject to access it. If you want to send mail, click the compose mail button to begin composing your email. Once you’re done writing, select who you want to send it the message to and click the Send button.

Inviting friends to play Island Paradise – If you want to invite your Facebook friends to play the Island Paradise, click the Invite tab at the top of your screen. Once the page loads, select the friends that you want to invite and hit the send button. If your friends’ accept the request, they will appear in your Island Paradise neighbors box at the bottom of your screen.

Island Paradise news – When there are new updates to the game, they will be announced in the news section. To view the latest news, click the glass bottle in your bottom toolbar. This will open the news and you can scroll through it by clicking the arrows.

Changing your appearance – If you want to change your appearance, click the shirt icon in your bottom toolbar. When the box opens, click through the different tabs and make any changes you want. When you’re finished, click the Save button and your changes will be saved.

Zooming in / out – You can zoom in and out of Island Paradise by using the zoom icons located at the bottom of your screen. You can also use the wheel on your mouse to zoom in and out of the game’s field of view too.

Full screen mode – It’s a lot easier to work on your island when viewing it in full screen mode. To view your island in full screen mode, click the square icon next to the zoom icons. To exit full screen mode, click the ESC button on your keyboard.

Saving your game – It’s a good idea to save your game after making large purchases. The game should automatically save itself, but errors occasionally happen and you don’t want to risk a big purchase. To save the game, click the Save icon on the right side of your screen.

Changing game quality – If you frequently find yourself waiting for the game to load, you may want to reduce the graphics quality. To do this, click the icon directly above the save icon. This will change your graphics slightly, but it will also speed up page loading for the game.

Changing your island’s name – If you want to change the name of your island, click the name of your island located near the top of your screen. Then simply enter the new name you want to give the island.

Turning off sound – If you find the sound of the game to be annoying, you may want to turn it off. On the right side of your screen, you’ll see the sound icon. Clicking on this sound icon will disable any sounds from the game.

Turning off music – Turning your music off can be done by clicking the music icon on the right side of your game. Clicking the icon one time will turn off the music and clicking it again will turn it back on

Changing your field of view – You can move your field of view of the island by clicking and holding the button down on your mouse and dragging the mouse in the direction you want to view.

Removing snow – If you have snow on your island, press Shift S on your keyboard to remove it.

Hiding trees – You can hide and unhide your trees if they get in your way. Simply press Shitft T on your keyboard to hide them and press it again to unhide them.

Moving your boat – You may find it difficult to move your boat in Island Paradise because you have to have a large area for the boat to reside. Just because the bottom of the boat turns green when trying to move it that doesn’t mean you can place it in that particular spot. You will have to keep trying to place it until it actually stays.

How To Play Island Paradise

Earning Island Paradise coins– Below you will find a list of ways to earn coins in Island Paradise.

Sell your crops – Growing and selling your crops is the best way to earn coins.

Sell unwanted gifts – If you have unwanted gifts, you can always sell them to earn coins.

Harvest animals – Harvesting your animals will also earn you coins.

Steal crops – Stealing your friends crops and selling them will also earn you coins.
Harvest trees – Harvesting your trees will earn you coins.

Earning Island Paradise points – Experience points are needed to level up in Island Paradise. As you level up more items will be unlocked. Below you will find that there are several ways to earn points in Island Paradise.

Harvesting crops – Harvesting crops will earn you one point per crop that you harvest.

Plowing fields – Plowing a field will also earn you one point.

Harvesting animals – Harvesting your animals is another way to earn points.

Harvesting trees – Harvesting your trees will earn you points.

Planting crops – Each time you plant a new crop, you will earn two points.

Buying decorations – Buying decorations, buildings, and things like that will also earn you points. How many points will depend on what you buy.

Stealing from friends – Stealing from your friends will earn you points. Normally, it is one point for each item you steal.

Collect salvage – Picking up items off your island will earn you points too.

Earning Island Paradise credits – You are given a limited amount of credits when you first start playing the game but you’ll earn more as you level up. If you need more credits you can always buy more too.

Buying Island Paradise credits – If you need to buy more credits, you can click the Add Credits button at the top of your screen. Then simply select how many credits you want to buy and how you want to pay for them.

Upgrading your island – If you need to upgrade your island, click the Map icon at the bottom of your screen. When the map opens, click the Upgrade option. There you will see the available upgrades in the box. You must do the upgrades in order. To complete the first upgrade, click the Buy button. You have be provided a choice for completing the upgrade with coins or credits. If you want to do the upgrade with credits, you will need to click the credit tab in the upgrade box.

Island Paradise level – Your level will be displayed in the yellow star at the top of your screen. You can place your mouse over the level bar to see how many points you need to get to the next level of the Island Paradise game.

Gathering salvage – You may have noticed cans, shells, and other items laying around your island. If you click on these to pick them up, you’ll earn Island Paradise coins and experience points. You can also pick them up off of your friends’ islands to earn more.

Island Paradise shopping – If you would like to go shopping in Island Paradise, click the Shop icon. This is the icon with the fruits and coins on it. You can place your mouse over the icons to see the names of them. Once you click the Shop icon, you will see the different categories in the shop. Select a category to find what you want to buy and click the buy button to make a purchase.

Using fertilizers – You can use fertilizers to help speed-up the growth of your Island Paradise crops. These fertilizers can be purchased from the shop. To do this, click your shop to open it and click the boosts category. When that shop loads, click the fertilizer tab and you will then see the fertilizers you have to choose from. Fertilizers can only be bought with Island Paradise credits; they cannot be purchased with Island Paradise coins.

Flowers – At this time, flowers do not offer any value; they merely provide decor to your island and they cannot be sold or harvested for Island Paradise money. If this changes, will update the guide to let you know.

Comparing fertilizers – In Island Paradise, you will notice two fertilizers. The first fertilizer is the regular fertilizer. This one will decrease the amount of time by 24 hours. The second fertilizer is the Supa Gro. It will decrease growth time by 48 hours.

Adding Island Paradise neighbors – You do not have to add your neighbors in Island Paradise. If you Facebook friends play this game, they will automatically be added as your friends. Your friends will be in a box below your bottom toolbar.

Visiting Island Paradise neighbors – To visit your neighbors, simply click the neighbor you want to visit. Your game will reload and you will be redirected to their island.

Stealing from Island Paradise neighbors – Stealing from your neighbors will earn you Island Paradise money and experience points. To steal from your neighbors, visit the neighbor you want to steal from, find something that is ready to harves and click on it. The stolen items will be placed in your storage and you can only steal three things from each neighbor per day.

How do I steal from a neighbor without them knowing? – Do you want to steal from your neighbors without letting them know that you stole from them? If so, you’ll have to undo the notification that is sent to them immediately after you steal something. That is, when you go to their island and steal something, a notification will appear in the right corner of your screen. It will say that a notification was sent to your friend letting them know that you stole from them. In that notification, you will see an Undo link you can click to prevent it from being sent. You’ll have to act soon to deactiveate it immediately after you steal from them because the notification window will disappear within a few seconds.

Can any item be stolen? – The answer to that question is NO! Any and everything cannot be stolen from your island. If you have purchased things with credits, they cannot be stolen. For example, if you bought an animal with credits, your friends could not steal from that particular animal.

No stealing sign – Did you purchase a no stealing sign thinking it would keep your friends from stealing your stuff? Well, unfortunately it doesn’t work that way. The sign is more of a novelty item and doesn’t protect your items. You can buy these signs using your Island Paradise credits and place them on your island, but that will not keep your friends from stealing your Island Paradise items.

How do I know if someone stole from me? – If someone has stolen from you, you can tell by placing your mouse over an item that is ready to harvest. There a box will appear and you may see a fraction like “2/4 ready”. That means that out of the four, you can only harvest two because someone stole two of those items.

Sending Island Paradise gifts – Sending gifts is a great way to show your friends you care. You can help them build their island up and they may just help you by returning the favor. To send a gift, you will need to click the Free Gifts tab at the top of your screen. Once the gift page loads, you will need to select your gift by clicking on it. Next, click the Proceed to Send button, select the friends that you want to send the gift to, and click the Send button below that box.

Accepting Island Paradise gifts – Check the request section of your Facebook profile to see if you have any gifts. If you have received gifts, click the gift link so you can see them and then the Accept button next to each gift to accept it. The page will then reload and you will be asked if you have more gifts to accept. If you do, click the Yes button and you will be returned to the request page.

Using gifts – To use Island Paradise gifts that you’ve accepted, click the Gift Box in your bottom toolbar. The gift box will then open and you can select a gift that you want to use. Once you have selected the gift, the box will close and you can place the gift on your island. If you have more gifts to place, click the gift box again to grab another gift.

Selling Island Paradise gifts – If you want to sell your gifts, place your gifts on your island and then select the delete tool. Once you have selected the tool, click the gift you want to delete and a box will pop up. In the box, you will see how much the gift is worth. If you still want to sell the gift, click the accept button. If you do not want to sell it for that price, click the cancel button.

Island Paradise Strategy

Theft karma – If you don’t want your friends stealing your Island Paradise items, don’t steal from them. There is nothing worse than taking the time to work on your farm to earn coins and then losing it to a bunch of Island Paradise thieves.

Plant crops to fit your schedule – Don’t plant crops that will be ready before you can log back on or you may lose them. That is they may spoil, die, or your friends may steal them from you. Either way you’ll lose potential Island Paradise profits.

Mum’s the word – If you decide to steal from your friends you should at least hide it from them so they don’t steal from you. Remember to undo the notification when it pops up after you steal from your Island Paradise neighbor.

Expand your operation – Growing more crops, buying more animals to yield goods from, and expanding your farm all contribute to earning more Island Paradise coins and increasing profits. Moreover, you’ll gain more Island Paradise experience points to level up and advance in the game.

Sell unwanted gifts – If you have any Island Paradise gifts that you don’t need you should sell them. Doing so will earn you extra Island Paradise coins.

Helping and sharing – Visiting your Island Paradise neighbors and sending them gifts helps them and you. That is, doing those things encourages them to return the favor. Plus you earn Island Paradise coins and experience points for doing so and all of this will help you level up faster.

Use fertilizer – Fertilizers will increase the growth rate of your Island Paradise crops so you can harvest sooner. By doing so you can replant much sooner and harvest again. The faster you can get a crop to harvesting maturity, the more profit you can make in a given amount of time.

Skip the postings – From time to time Island Paradise may prompt you to post to your Facebook profile when you accomplish certain tasks in the game. You should abstain from doing this too often as your Facebook friends may unfriend you or hide you in their news feed. You’ll also want to make sure that auto-posting is disabled for the game. Collect shells, diamonds, and clams – Any time you see one of these, make sure you pick them up. Picking up these Island Paradise items will earn you anywhere from 40 to 80 Island Paradise coins.

Speed page loading – If you’ve reduced the graphics quality for the Island Paradise game already but you’re still experiencing slow page loads, you may want to change browsers. Opera and Google Chrome are both very lightweight web browsers that load pages quickly.

Add messages to invites – When you send out Facebook invites make sure you include a short message explaining the purpose of the invitation. Something short and sweet like “Island Paradise” or “Island Paradise add” will suffice.

Join Island Paradise groups – Island Paradise fan pages are a great resource to find new Island Paradise adds. Search on Facebook for Island Paradise fan pages and groups to join and once you’ve done so, post your profile link on those pages. Other Island Paradise members will then add you as a friend. This is a very important part of the game as increasing the number of Island Paradise neighbors you have unlocks items, helps you gain more experience points and coins, and permits you to reach Island Paradise levels quicker.
